Driver State Detection
What is Driver State Detection?
The driver state detection system will read numerous inputs simultaneously of the driver and decide whether the driver is ready and able to take over control or is too vulnerable to perform the task by himself. The focus is to indicate and evaluate the driver’s physical and mental state while in a vehicle.
Implications
In the driver state detection system, a multi-functional state detection assistance system can capture multiple areas of the driver’s mental level and send those data back to a deep learning algorithm that is able to perform real-time data analyses. The result can show several are of interest such as stress level, fatigue, distraction, aggression, etc. The system can alarm the driver, if the result falls into a critical threshold, to be more vigilant.
Benefits
Successful Projects
Sudden sickness, distraction, and mind wondering detection by camera and audio based approaches for hand over situations in autonomous driving
Camera-Based Monitoring of Safety-Critical Driver Conditions
Evaluation of multiple fatigue intervention systems
Multimodal physiological measurements of mental workload for evaluating ADAS
