Digital Sports Hub

A Contribution of German Elite Sport to Smart Health Promotion

Project Justification

The BMWi-funded project proposal Digital Sports Hub aims to build an ecosystem as a sports data space for sport–, fitness–, and health-related data. The core idea is to create a decentralized database based on top-level and recreational sports data optimized for AI business models.

Our Approach

Existing top-level sport-related databases will be prepared in a quality-assured manner and new interfaces will be created to facilitate the development of new user databases. Data will be securely shared via a decentralized data marketplace. Furthermore, simplified AI tools enable a broad use of AI models via citizen science projects. In addition, broad actor and stakeholder network activities enable a crucial standardization and norming function and further ensure social acceptance in the field of personal fitness and health data.

Moreover, ixp provides its extensive knowledge and experiences in the field of AI-based affective computing systems for health, prevention, and sport contexts. After design, redesign, and test operation, ixp is further responsible for the evaluation processes and the dissemination of the test operation results.

The Digital Sports Hub project was among the winners of the innovation competition “Artificial Intelligence as a Driver for Economically Relevant Ecosystems” of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
