We concentrate on research on recognition (e.g. affective computing) and modification of user states (e.g. alertness management) within the context of work activities and human-computer-interaction. Hereby, we concentrate on constructing and applying speech-, video- and biosignal-based detection methods for identifying safety- and comfort-relevant user states (e.g. fatigue, aggression, depression, uncertainty, and Joy of Use).
In addition, the application of signal processing and pattern recognition algorithms is being used to identify and predict concepts of industrial and health psychology (predictive modeling, e.g. prediction of therapy response in allergic rhinitis, forecast of Dow Jones performance based on patterns of past performances or determination of leadership qualities).
